Benz GLB specs, interior, exterior, price and release date
The new exterior design of the SUV will prove to be tough, as Christian Schulte Design has demonstrated. The Benz GLB will feature a lot of sheet metal, a long roof, a large high horseback riding, and a muscular image. These features will distinguish them from the GLA, which is nothing more than a first-class hatchback car. The fact that GLB will adopt the design details of the Ener-G-Force 2015 concept will also help.
The Benz GLB will be based on a copy of the MFA2 front-wheel drive / 4-wheel drive that also supports the latest A-Class model. This means that the GLB will share the engines and technologies with the integrated hatchback. A range of off-road with modified bumpers should be provided for larger angles of approach and departure as an option.
Mercedes-Benz is believed to have a long Benz GLB base wheels in the pipeline as well, and this model may offer seven seats. We expect GLB to arrive in Europe later this year and in late 2019 in the US.
The Mercedes GLB SUV for 2019 shares its own class A and must have a very similar interior design. This increases the likelihood that GLB will get the A-Class Intelligent Reality, which makes satellite directions appear to hover over the road on the car’s information and entertainment screen. We expect the use of premium materials throughout, although somewhat reduced in the hierarchy of Mercedes cars.
You can expect the GLB to have room for four adults – helped by their shape in the form of a box – and a storage space of about 500 liters, making it equal to the BMW X1.
Mercedes’s recent agreement with Renault and Nissan means the Mercedes GLB SUV in 2019 will use some of the same engines as Renault Senec and Nissan Gock. It is possible that these manufacturers will supply Mercedes with smaller four-cylinder engines ranging from 1.3 liters to 1.8 liters, but two gasoline engines and 2.0-liter diesel will be the top two. Most models will be front-wheel drive, with a four-wheel drive for the most expensive engines and cutting joints.
Mercedes GLB will be an alternative to cars such as the Audi Q2 and the BMW X1 to estimate its price starting at £ 26,000. The release date is still unclear but you can expect to see the car ending sometime in 2019.
